For most students, school is still 5 days away; for StuCo members, it started Monday! We've been working hard (most of the time) to get the school year prepped and ready for all of the students to come back on the 19th.

While some of our time at school has been devoted to play, we've made some big plans and important decisions about how the school year is going to go. We've had serious discussions about how the school year should function, how we can reward the students (and make them look forward to school just a little bit more), and what this year's 7th annual Homecoming festivities will look like.

Something new we're doing as a school, is a school theme. The 2013-2014 will be centered around one central idea, and many of the events and activities planned will incorporate this idea. Decided on Monday, this year's theme will be...Pixar movies! Each month will focus on a different movie, with September's being Finding Nemo! Get ready to Just Keep Swimming through the year and be prepared to Splash Back into the School Year!

Big changes are happening at Hallsville High, and we want you to get involved. This year, on August 26th, we'll be having our first annual Student Involvement Day. Returning students are encouraged to wear their club's t-shirt to promote involvement. During the lunch/advisory period, an Activities Fair will be in the mezaninne to help students better understand what each club's purpose is. More information on Student Involvement Day can be found
here

We're certainly excited for the upcoming school year, and can't wait to see everyone on the 19th
